As a successful and growing company, CSL is continuously striving for ways to positively impact our community/environment and for opportunities to develop our values related to Environment, Sustainability, and Governance.
Since our inception, CSL has really focused on recognizing ways to contribute immediately in our local community. We strive to be involved with many local events and organizations on an annual basis to provide much-needed support and to encourage positive change.
CSL contributes annually to the Thunder Bay Minor Hockey Association to ensure youth who want to participate have the opportunities.
This is program designed to ensure no kid arrives at school hungry and has been a cornerstone of CSL.
Every Christmas CSL donates numerous trees the Our Kids Count team to ensure that every family has tree to enjoy and help brighten the holidays.
Every Christmas CSL requests 1-2 families from Children’s Aid Society and provides clothing, food and toys for Christmas.
Each year CSL partners with the team at Impala Canada Ltd. to provide items for auction where the money is provided to Children’s Aid Society, Dilico Anishinabek Family Care, Dew Drop Inn, Salvation Army Homeless Shelter and Faye Peterson Transition House.
Charitable Contributions
Since 2019, CSL has been proud to contribute annually to the Thunder Bay Minor Hockey Association, Lakehead Public Schools Breakfast Club, Our Kids Count – Christmas Cheer, and the Children’s Aid Christmas hamper program. Additionally, CSL partners with Impala Canada Ltd. to provide items for their annual penny auction which supports the Children’s Aid Society, Dilico Anishnabek Family Care, Dew Drop Inn, Salvation Army Homeless Shelter, and Faye Peterson Transition House.
Teaching Initiatives with Confederation College
In 2023, CSL was proud to provide training opportunities to post-secondary students through hands-on teaching initiatives with Confederation College and hopes to pursue future opportunities for this type of training. We also contribute to bursaries for students of local Indigenous communities to pursue further skills development and education for a successful future.
Indigenous Partnerships
We strongly believe that our Indigenous partnerships are key to our goal of ensuring that training and meaningful opportunities are provided to the communities we work with. We work closely with our community partners to ensure that the youth know the opportunities available, and these partnerships have developed into lasting friendships. Currently, CSL has Joint Ventures with Whitesand First Nation and Fort William Fort Nation and is open to working with new communities as opportunities arise.
Environmental Impact
Going forward, CSL intends to evaluate ways that we can reduce our environmental impact and promote sustainability. We will provide updates to this page as we continue to grow and develop as a company.
